ULTRA STUDIO Guest #5 : Patric Sandri

‘50/50’

23 April – 13 May 2017

.

Observe a space in silence in complete solitude.

Walking along its margins, knowing the white plaster. Understand the form. The volume. Interrogate the gaps. Compare its full. Think about the solutions to solve the architectural limits, and from there, become part of it.

Patric Sandri is the first guest artist invited to develop a site specific exhibition project in accordance with the 2017 curatorial ULTRASTUDIO program: From Light to Dust.

For the occasion, the artist decided to work on and with the exhibition space limitations. He is trying to highlight the limitations of painting, the architecture of the space and painting. The work at ULTRASTUDIO is jumping from painting, installation, sculpture and architecture back and forth. Sandri leaves to the viewer the freedom of inspection, study and movement. The work is permanently changing from different points of view.
The colours function like light sources. Painted wood is attached to the wall. These colours reflect and radiate on the wall. The viewer begins to imagine displays of light and colour. Picture, spaces, paintings or a painting in the actual space will become apparent. The lights of the primary colours bring us closer to a poetic original thought.
