Davide Allieri’s work ranges from sculpture to installation and includes experiments involving the use of the image: drawing, collage, photography and video. There are different ways to show a state connected to the living, the memory, the absence, the desire, the space, the trace, the antiques and the fragment. The work tries to convey all these elements in shapes in order to reverse the function existing between the artwork and its exhibition display. Giving a damaged relationship between: the full and the empty, the subject and the object of desire, the perfect shape and the eternal unfinished, the classical and the missing fragment. This leads to a work about the support, trying to dig deep into the language. Through an analytic vision that explores the tool, the structure, the foundation, the research is an attempt to monumentalize the fleeing and focus on the background. The perimeter rather than the center, the curtain rather than the show, the frame rather than the canvas, the pedestal rather than the sculpture, the invisible rather than the visible, the shadow rather than the illuminated subject.
